There was much discussion concerning the Demo. From the very beginning, there was both positive and negative criticism. Some points were valid, such as a seeming lack of direction as far as a “setting” was concerned. Some was not so valuable, such as a tirade about the “Diablo-esque” font used on the cover.
The Demo is essentially a printed copy of the of an early, still in development rules set for Legends and Fairytales. It made no bones about this fact. The Demo introduced its readers to something different. It showed the world what concepts The Hobby Dragon was working on with the final version of the game. “A Prelude to Legends and Fairytales” gave the world the first small taste of what was to come.
